Key Features
The Ashdown AA 50R Acoustic Combo Amp is a NAMM 2018 addition to Ashdown's classic acoustic amp range. It's loaded with 50 watts of power and a pair of 5" Celestion speakers for ultimate projection and a retro late '80s/'90s aesthetic - as well as excellent up-to-date features for a modern performance. Channel 1 (instrument channel) boasts both passive and active inputs, as well as gain, bass and treble rotary controls. The AA-50R also features a reverb division that can be conveniently turned on/off for each channel independently, whilst the sensitivity can be controlled by a single rotary switch.
Constructed from premium grade plywood, the Ashdown 50R is also covered in Tolex vinyl, providing a durable and rugged performance. The 5-band EQ allows you to find your perfect sound, alongside the 16-position rotary control that provides a variety of pre-set reverbs to thicken the guitar's natural voice. Equipped with post/pre-EQ XLR DI outputs that provide connection into a PA, this amp also features an effects loop for external effects as well as Bluetooth connectivity - allowing you to play along and practice with a connected audio device.

From the top, Ashdown’s AA combos are constructed using high quality plywood, covered in Tolex vinyl and loaded with UK made 5-inch Celestion Speakers. This ensures they emit a quality sound whilst also looking the part and remaining incredibly durable throughout their lifetime.
From left to right, the front panel on the AA range encompasses a magnitude of well-organised and well-considered qualities and controls. Channel 1 is the instrument channel, and features passive and active inputs with gain, bass and treble rotary controls. Channel 2, reserved for microphones, features a single XLR input with phantom power switch and gain control. The Reverb division also allows for the effect to be turned on/off for each channel independently, whilst the sensitivity of the reverb is controlled with a single rotary switch for both channels at once.
A master 5-band graphic EQ and adjustable notch filter makes it possible to fine tune your tone depending on your preference and room size, whilst a 16-position rotary control lets the player choose from a host of pre-set reverbs from room to hall and delay settings - broadening your natural sound when required. On the rear, post and pre-EQ, XLR DI outputs allow the player to connect into a PA for larger gigs. There's also an effects loop to allow the player to use external effects in series with the signal chain, line input and output feeds, and finally a balanced line input and built in Bluetooth for connecting external audio devices.
