Concert Cutaway Body

The concert cutaway ukulele is the big sister of the soprano ukulele, built with a slightly bigger body for a richer, warmer tone. Unlike other models, this stunning ukulele features 19 frets, making it a preferable choice for ukulele soloists. The extra room that a concert shape holds, along with its extended fret range, enables players to perform more technical skills, while still maintaining the classic soprano-like sound of a classic ukulele. The cutaway shape puts challenging chords within easy reach.

Body Tonewoods

Built using Pacific walnut for the top, back, and sides, with an okoume neck, and rosewood finger-board, the Tribal Spirit delivers the perfect tone and looks. Pacific walnut projects unique tonal characteristics blended with its eye-catching appearance. Walnut also yields brilliant balance with tonal characteristics that fall between rosewood and mahogany, the result is an extremely warm, bright sounding, well-balanced ukulele.

Okoume Neck

Okoume is used for the neck of the Tanglewood Tribal Spirit, and can be compared to maple due to their similar tonal characteristics, projecting a light, and incredibly bright tone. Blended with a beautiful rosewood fingerboard, players can achieve a warm, bright, sparkly tone that really shines through when using finger-picking techniques. With a natural satin finish, and white dot fret-board inlays, the Tanglewood Tribal Spirit really is an instrument of classic Tanglewood quality.

This includes the signature Tanglewood Tribal Spirit rosette design feature situated around the sound-hole, the ABS Ivory saddle which complements the tonewood colour beautifully, along with the white dot fret-board inlays and chrome die cast machine heads. Finished in a natural satin, the ukulele offers traditional styling and signature Tanglewood quality.

The Tanglewood Tribal Spirit has a factory fitted pickup with an on-board Tanglewood TEQ-TUT preamp and tuner. Take your Tribal Spirit ukulele to the stage with quick and easy set up, or use on-board tuning feature for precise intonation.
