The ash wood body is topped with flamed maple that’s been graded AAAA, meaning that the maples figuring is considered ‘one of a kind’ and results in a unique body aesthetic. The maple top also enhances the natural tones of the body wood, brightening up the top end and thickening up the lows for a warmer tones.
The Glendora NPG’s body is crafted from resonant ash wood, offering an excellent sustain that will let the guitars tones sing. The hard wood creates a bright tone with firm lows and pleasant highs that make the guitar good for playing cutting, and distorted tones. With a strong midrange and a crisp bass response, the ash wood provides the guitar with bright, loud tonal characteristics.
The flamed maple and rosewood combination gives the guitar exceptionally thick, firm lows and a sizzling high end that’s both sparkly and creamy. The flamed maple is roasted to provide a lighter and strong neck, whilst also making it less susceptible to moisture and climate change. The maple wood offers bright characteristics, tightening up the guitar's overall tone and adding some cut for a midrange snappy attack. The rosewood fingerboard ‘furs up’ the maple's tone, giving it some warmth while opening up the mids. The maple and rosewood work together to provide a punchy, gnarl edge when the strings are hit hard, but become clear with light to medium picking.
Featuring a set of Habanero classic pickups in a HSS configuration, the Glendora is capable of producing powerful tones that have a lot of depth and harmonics, perfect for playing a wide range of musical styles. A classic PAF styled Humbucker sits in the bridge position to offer a mid output that’s fat and defined, delivering a very dynamic sound. The neck and middle positions feature Habanero’s single coil pickup that provide a fat, vintage tone, bring balance and sparkle to the guitars sound.
Featured on the Glendora guitar is GJ2’s own original tremolo bridge, designed to offer excellent resonance, tuning stability, and precise whammy action. Built with stainless steel blocks and saddles that enhance resonance and sustain, the tremolo accentuates the guitars high end and provides perfect balance to the body wood. The GJ2 bridge also features a locking tremolo arm which allows the arm to be locked to the bridge’s base plate for ultimate sensitivity and control.
A set of Hipshot tuners are used on the GJ2 guitar, offering a precise turning ratio of 18:1 with quick string changes and excellent tuning stability. With an open gear design and a locking mechanism, the tuners have different post heights for a staggered layout resulting in no string tree.
Jescar 57110 frets and used on the fingerboard and are built with stainless steel for a sturdy and strong construction, allowing the frets to remain sturdy for many years. Each fret is precision cut and perfectly laid onto the fretboard, providing a smooth surface that won’t take away from the guitar's sound.
