Classic Dreadnought Body Shape
The PF15ECE has a dreadnought body shape. This is one of the original acoustic guitar designs and was named after the large battleships of the early 20th century. The dreadnought guitar is renowned for its full-bodied tone with powerful resonance and deep bass-response. This makes it ideal for strumming styles of music and for replicating the smallest details in delicate fingerpicking styles.
The PF15ECE delivers a loud acoustic tone with a wide frequency-range; this is ideal for accompanying singers and for playing with small groups. When you're ready to get playing on stage, the on-board electronics will re-create the rich acoustic tone, ready for projection through an amplifier or PA system.
Bright & Resonant Tonewoods
The PF15ECE's body is crafted from sapele and topped with spruce. This gives it a bright tone with great nuance and tonal balance. The spruce top is a popular feature due to its light weight and bright sound, helping your acoustic guitar to project with clarity and a sweet sound. The neck is made from mahogany which is chosen for its warm and resonant tonality. The mahogany neck is glued to the body and helps the guitar resonate to its fullest extent.
On-board Electronics for Amplified Performance
The PR15ECE has a built-in pickup and preamp system, meaning you can get plugged into an amplifier, PA system, or recording device, and achieve a direct tone with great clarity. This makes it the ideal instrument for taking on stage, where you can get amplified with the minimum of fuss.
The AEQ-2T preamp has a handy built-in tuner, so you don't need to take your eyes off the guitar to get in tune and can concentrate on your performance or practice session. The preamp also has controls for bass and treble frequencies, so you can make direct adjustments to your tone without having to reach down to your amplifier or speak to your sound engineer.
Smooth Playability for Comfort Over Long Playing Sessions
The PR15ECE has a cutaway on the lower bout of the body. This gives you enhanced access to the top frets, so you can fully utilise the full range of the guitar. If you play with a capo, this also means you can affix the capo high up the neck and not worry about being restricted by the guitar's body.
The PR15ECE's neck has a smooth profile that sits comfortably in the left hand and enables an easy playing-action for long practice session or live performances. If you're a developing musician, daily practice sessions will help you progress the quickest and the PR15ECE's comfortable dimensions mean you can concentrate on your practice. More advanced musicians will also appreciate the smooth playing feel of the PR15ECE.
