The OSC1 is a voltage-controlled analog oscillator packed with unique features. Providing precise control over all parameters of audio modulation, the OSC1 makes it easy to create sounds unique to you. Waveform’s begin in triangle, sinusoidal and pulse format, configured at the sawtooth core of the OSC1. These waveforms then pass through the VCA to be summed at the mix output. The mix output can be switched between two and four quadrant multiplication modes. This allows for a great range of amplitude modulation to be applied. The level control for each waveform dictates not only static level, but also the modulation depth. This is achieved thanks to the precise design of the control summation. Patching can also be taken prior to the VCA of each individual waveform output.
Shape modulation of the triangular, sinusoidal and pulse waveforms is made possible via the ‘shape’ parameter of the OSC1. Extreme modulation can be achieved by skewing forward or backward the triangular and sinusoidal waveshapes into ramp-like shapes. Alternatively, shaping the pulse wave provides standard pulsewidth modulation.
Frequency modulation can be achieved in both linear and exponential modes. This is selected via a switch on the OSC1, located next to the low/high frequency switch. When in high frequency mode, the OSC1 tracks to 1V/octave over four octaves in the audible range. Switching to LF mode allows the OSC1 to be used as a low frequency oscillator.
Having a sync input makes it possible to reset the OSC1 via an external signal. This can be done using a rising edge to reset the sawtooth wave to its peak. The inject input allows for external signals to interfere with the core of the OSC1, resulting in a huge array of modulation potential.
