Create grooves with movement
Deconstruct Minimal is designed around the subtle timing and pitch variations that gave classic drum machines their distinctive feel. You can switch between groove styles inspired by 808 and 909 style rhythms alongside Sonicware’s original minimal mode, adding different movement characteristics to patterns.
The 10-track drum machine includes detailed editing tools such as per-track accents, de-accents, swing, random velocity and sub-steps. Parameter locks record knob movements directly into sequences, allowing evolving sound changes throughout a pattern. Combined with phrase rotation and variation chaining, these tools help create grooves that feel dynamic and constantly shifting.
Expand tracks with sampling
Beyond drum programming, Deconstruct Minimal includes an integrated sampler for adding loops, textures and phrases directly into your arrangements. Tracks 7 to 9 function as sampler tracks for one-shot sounds while track 10 operates as a dedicated stereo loop track. This supports up to eight seconds of audio, making it useful for atmospheric layers, vocal cuts and repeating four-bar loops.
Mono samples can be loaded at either two or four seconds with repitch-to-tempo playback while stereo loops support real-time stretching. It is a flexible way to introduce extra movement and depth into minimal productions.
Shape expressive bass lines
The built-in bass synth uses analog-modelling technology inspired by classic monophonic bass synthesisers. Additional waveforms, sub-bass layering and dedicated overdrive controls give you a wide range of tonal options for deep bass foundations or sharper lead sounds.
Real-time control over glide timing, glide curves, decay and gate length allows expressive sequencing and smooth transitions between notes. An alternate synth mode based on a classic monophonic analogue character adds another flavour for melodic lines and phrases. Combined with parameter locks and phrase rotation, the synth section can evolve alongside your drum programming naturally.
Built for portable performance
Deconstruct Minimal is compact enough for smaller setups while still offering detailed hands-on control. Built-in speakers and battery power let you sketch ideas away from the studio or build grooves wherever inspiration appears. Dedicated performance effects include reverb, tape-style delay and per-track send control for shaping space and texture during playback.
A drum-focused isolator provides immediate low-end boosts, cuts and tonal adjustment while master effects such as sweep filter, phaser, distortion, snip loop and ducking compression are designed for quick one-handed performance control. It works equally well as a portable groovebox, studio drum machine or centrepiece for DAWless live rigs.
