The SX90 series is based upon an innovative new bell and bore design, offering less resistance as well as a more centred tone and even pitch throughout the saxophone's range. To ensure the key work is precise, Keilwerth produces it all by hand. The SX90 series has brought together Keilwerth manufacturing and the influence of David Liebman.
The pads on your saxophone are important as they prevent air from escaping when you press the keys down. The SX90 comes with high-quality pisoni leather pads, ensuring you will have the best feeling action on your keys with the least air escaping. Each pad also features a metal reflector or "resonator". These small discs woven into the pads help enhance the tone of your instrument and are an important part of the sound. Metal reflectors tend to produce a slightly brighter tone with a crisp attack.
Exploring the culture of jazz music, Keilwerth saxophones express sounds ranging from warm tones to high penetrating notes. Keilwerth saxophones were brought to the market in the latter part of the 20th century. Popular for their freedom to create a unique voice, musicians from every style of music have relied on these saxophones. These saxophones are capable of producing a consistent bold and distinctive sound. Strong influences such as Dave Liebman, James Moody, Nick Brignola, Ernie Watts, and Kirk Whalum, among many others have helped to create awareness of this unique sound.
