This Westbury intermediate viola boasts a Maple and Spruce body which provides a great resonant sound and a superb response. This is particularly useful for students as you'll sound great straight away! These great quality woods have been carved by hand and manufactured to give every viola special character and optimum tone. From there, the instrument is varnished with a gorgeous spirit to make it look great and last a long time.

A huge feature for the Westbury intermediate viola is the use of Ebony on the fingerboard, chinrest, topnut, and pegs. Thanks to Ebony's dense composition, it is highly resistant to the natural oils from your skin and provides an overall comfortable experience. To have all the fittings made from Ebony is a great advantage for an instrument of this price.

Everything you need to get started

Your new Westbury viola is supplied as an outfit, meaning it comes complete with everything you need to get started. To ensure that your new viola stays safe, it includes a black shaped case. Made from hard styrofoam, this case offers extreme protection for your viola as well as being lightweight. For an extra touch of class, the metal lock has a polished silver finish. To make sure that you can carry your essential accessories, the outside of the case features a full-length pocket - ideal for your music.

Carrying the case couldn't be easier. The sturdy handle on the top is riveted to the case and provides a robust feel. For even more protection, the inside of the case is lined with a plush material which will cushion your viola. The inside of the case an extra accessory pockets and two bow holders.

The included bow is made from Bulletwood - a CITES free, sustainable form of Brazilwood. It is meticulously crafted into an octagonal shape and uses unbleached natural white horsehair to produce the best possible sound. The bow comes complete with a comfortable thumb rest, fully mounted Ebony frog with a Parisian eye, and a three-piece screw.
